The Nurses’ Pledge 

I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this assembly to conscientiously practice my profession.

I shall respect the life, dignity and rights of man in the practice of my calling.

With zeal I shall nurse those who need care, irrespective of nationality, race, creed, colour, age, gender, politics or social status.

I shall collaborate and coordinate with the health team and devote myself to the welfare of my patients, my family and my country.

I shall endeavour to fulfill my rights and privileges as a good citizen and take my share of responsibility to promote health, to prevent illness, to restore health and to alleviate suffering.

I shall constantly endeavor to increase my knowledge and skills in nursing and to use them wisely.

I shall be active in assisting others, in safeguarding and promoting the health and happiness of mankind.
