  1. Students are expected to strictly abide by the rules and regulations as specified in the hall ticket issued by the university and the candidate found guilty shall not be permitted to take practical and viva examination till appropriate authority clears.
  2. Students final Internal Assessment Score will be calculated totaling the following:
  3. Out of 25 marks 15 marks are taken from the average of 3 internal Exams. 5 marks are taken from the average of 3 assignments and 5 marks are taken from the attendance of the present academic year.
  4. No re-examination will be conducted for those who fail in be Sessional examinations.
  5. Re-examination of the Sessional examinations will be given for students who are absent due to sickness which is supported by authentic Medical Certificates (issued from a medical officer from the hospitals) or students absent because of some serious problems/needs at home, which require their presence. However, if students were absent for the Sessional examinations due to health problems, and due to some genuine reasons were not able to acquire Medical Certificates, the Management and Principal together will decide on re-conducting their Sessionals.
  6. Students will be allowed to appear for the annual examinations if they have -80% and above attendance of the total number of theory classes taken, in each subject. 90% and above attendance in the clinical experience hours in the clinical subjects (however remaining 10% of the clinical experience hours must be compensated before the commencement of the next academic year) on any of their absence.
  7. As per the Indian Nursing Council Regulations, 100% of the clinical experience hours have to be completed before they start attending the classes for the next higher class.
  8. The degree will not be granted unless and until 100% clinical experience hours are compensated during the stipulated period.
  9. 100% attendance is required for 4th year B.Sc. nursing students, during internship to appear for University / examination. Students should clear all the previous years’ subjects before appearing for final year University examinations (INC Regulation).
  10. Students will be writing their University examinations on the days prescribed the RGUHS Bangalore.

1) WHAT STUDENTS SHOULD FOLLOW

DO’S

  1. To carry only black pen, pencil, rubber, scale & requires cosin. Haematoxylin pencils for diagrams in transparent pouch.
  2. To carry your own hall ticket duly signed by you & ID card of thecollege.
  3. Only water bottle if you feel so.
  4. Students should enter the exam hall before 8.30am.
  5. Students will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after 8.45am at any circumstances. 6. Any candidate found copying or receiving assistance in the examination will be disqualified.
  6. You should follow the instructions given by the centre superintendent and by the Invigilator at the examination venue. If you violate the instructions, you will be disqualified.
  7. You have to wear only slippers. Formal, loafer’s clogs, Sports& casual shoes, bellies and ballerinas, boots are prohibited. 9. Wear appropriate attire.
  8. Only braiding of hairs for girls is acceptable. Hair buns, free hair or any style of hair are prohibited

DONT’S

  1. Not to carry any calculator (scientific calculator are prohibited if required you can carry only the normal calculator) 2. Not to carry any electronic gadgets in any form wrist watch/pen/ ear pieces, etc…
  2. Not to carry any answer chits
  3. Not to carry any mobile phone
  4. Do not write any answers on your body or dress
  5. Do not laminate your hall tickets
  6. Not to carry any form of catables.

A candidate: Shall pass in both internal assessments and university examinations separately as stated in the Indian Nursing Council Circular No. 12-2/90-INC dated 16-01-1991.

Shall secure not less than 40% of maximum marks prescribed for internal assessment in theory and not less than 40% of marks prescribed for internal assessment in practical, separately, in each paper and shall secure in each paper not less than 50% of maximum marks prescribed in the University Examination for theory and not less than 50% of marks prescribed for practical in the University Examination separately.

Question Paper will consist of Section A Anatomy of 37 marks and Section B Physiology of 38 marks.

Question Paper will consist of Section A Nutrition of 45 marks and Section B Biochemistry of 30 marks.

Section A of Pharmacology with 38 marks, Section B of Pathology 25 and Genetics with 12 marks.

Nursing Research of 50 marks and Statistics of 25 marks.

Theory and Practical exams for following subjects are conducted as College exam and marks will be sent to the University for inclusion in the marks sheet.

However, for a pass in English Paper, a candidate shall secure not less than 40% of maximum prescribed marks in theory and 40% of maximum prescribed marks in internal assessment.

(Only in the final year examination with cumulative marks)

  1. A student who has appeared and passed in all the subjects in the first attempt securing 75% or more marks out of the grand total marks prescribed, will be declared to have passed the examination with Distinction.
  2. A student who has appeared and passed in all the subjects in the first attempt securing 65% or more but less than 75% of grand total marks prescribed will be declared to have passed the examination in First Class
  3. A student who has appeared and passed in all the subjects in Students with the first attempt securing 51% or more but less than 65% of grand total marks prescribed will be declared to have passed the examination in Second Class.
  4. A student who has passed in all the subjects in more than one attempt shall be placed in Pass only irrespective of the percentage of marks secured by him/her in the examination.
  1. The students failing more than one/two subjects in any nursing programming can be promoted to next year. Only two attempts were allowed before 2012, now a student can take any number of attempts with a condition that maximum period allowed is as prescribed for each nursing programme. That is. B.Sc. (N) – 8 years, GNM – 7 years. However, all papers need to be cleared before appearing for the final University Examinations of 4th year B.Sc. Nursing. (Circular F.No. 1-5/2014-INC, dated 29-10-2014).
  2. If a student fails in theory or practical exam of a subject. he/she has to re-appear for both the Theory and Practical exam of that subject.
  1. The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed double the years of the stipulated course period B.Sc. (N)-8 years.
  2. The student is permitted to attempt the subject any number of times within the stipulated course period.
  3. Supplementary exam will be given for the failed students within 6-8 weeks of announcement of University examination result. Students who are absent for the university examination/ has attendance shortage are not permitted to appear for supplementary examination, as the supplementary examination is only for the failed students.
  4. Students who failed in University examination are allowed to write two improvement sessional examinations after paying the specified fees.
